Perhaps not an exemplar of exceptional architecture, but it stood out among the rest here in Adelaide with its simple form, quint balcony, textured blue and ingenuity of the two shadow lines running across the facades.
This intricate palimpsest of bricks in Adelaide is a regular view on our commute.
The Eden House is recognisable from its distinctive, round solitary window placed in the centre on the southern facade. A lack of openings was an intentional move to shield and provide privacy to its occupants from the nearby road which lies up the hill, while also providing a clue as to what lies beyond the monolithic facade.
If you’re pumping your air conditioner all day and the air is feeling dry, think about using some indoor plants to improve humidity, like the top image.
One cannot have too many succulents and cacti on a west facing balcony. These tough babies (bottom image) did great over the 40°C week.

We’re taking a short break to do the Three Capes walk in Tassie. This is the first of the three beautifully-detailed huts designed by JAWS Architects.
Angled window hoods allow the ground plane to be reflected, rather than the sky and horizon; helping to prevent any native birds from injuring themselves by flying into the glass.
